Here is a nice warm comfort food for the upcoming cold fall days! This recipe should serve 6-8 people. We'd like to thank Shimshon Yitzhk, the Chef at GFM Kosher Korner for this tasty meal. You can visit Shimshon and taste some of his other delightful creations at the GFM Northbrook location.
INGREDIENTS:
-2 pounds beef stew meat, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 2 onions chopped
-3 Idaho potatoes, peeled and cubes
-3 carrots slices
-1 bunch celery sliced
-1 cub sliced mushroom
-1 can diced tomato
-1 quart beef broth
-2 cloves garlic minced
-1 tablespoon fresh oregano chopped
-1 tablespoon fresh thyme chopped
-1/2 teaspoon paprika
-1 teaspoon salt
-1/2 teaspoon pepper
-1/2 cup red wine
-2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
PREPARATION:
Saute onion in olive oil, add beef and brown. Add spices, red wine, beef broth and the rest of the veggies. Simmer slowly on low heat for at least 1 hour.
